Adera Development Corporation, in partnership with Structurlam, hosted a Media Tour at the Virtuoso development on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Attendees witnessed the delivery and installation of Struturlam Crosslam™(CLT) panels and glulam beams at the site, and toured through Virtuoso’s first completed floor.
The installation of this CLT technology is changing the future of residential development in Vancouver and around the world. It’s faster to assemble, cost effective, safer on-site and produces a lower carbon footprint compared to concrete and steel.
The benefits of cross laminated timber (CLT) and glue laminated timber (glulam) extend beyond the construction team. These innovative building materials provide Virtuoso’s future residents with a quiet and seismically secure home. CLT also reduces the cumulative shrinkage that can be problematic in midrise construction when using light wood frame products.
