Canadian Men Win First HSBC World Rugby Sevens Tournament in Singapore

Canadian men made history at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Singapore this past weekend – winning their first Cup final. This was proud moment for Canadian Rugby.

Adera has been a huge supporter of the BC Rugby Elite Boys’ 7s (BCEY7s) Program. Annabel Kehoe, CEO of BC Rugby, states that the program would not have been created had it not been for the support extended by Adera.

Adera has donated $20,000 over the last 4 years in support of UBC Rugby Scholarships, given to rugby student-athletes who have gone through the BCEY7s Program.

March has been a very busy month for BC Rugby, with the Las Vegas 7s Invitational Tournament, Vancouver Rugby Festival, and the National U18 7s Rugby Championships of which BC Rugby reigns as Champions in the Boys and Girls competitions!

The program has been responsible for supporting the transition of talented BC players into National Teams. Four of the players on the Canadian Men’s team played in Adera’s sponsored BCEY7s program, including Pat Kay (Duncan), Karsten Leitner (Vancouver), Justin Douglas (Abbotsford) and Nathan Hirayama (Richmond). Hirayama has been named HSBC Player of the Final.
