Salus Brings Wellness Home with Onsite Spa

Canada’s first spa in a residential development opens this weekend

Surrey, BC – The first spa located in a residential development in Canada opens its doors this weekend. Club Aqua at Salus in Surrey offers services ranging from spa treatments to yoga classes.

“Club Aqua has been a huge draw for buyers,” says Norm Couttie, President of Adera. “In fact, people are telling us that they are buying here because they’ve never seen amenities like a spa with its own private fitness facilities.”

Club Aqua’s amenities, available to homeowners and their guests, include a salt water lap pool, open air hot tub, infrared detoxifying sauna, aromatherapy steam rooms, a studio for yoga and meditation, and a fitness training centre offering strength and cardiovascular training equipment. Spa and fitness professionals deliver wellness treatments such as deep tissue and relaxation massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, salt scrubs and detoxifying body wraps, along with lifestyle counselling, yoga and personal fitness training, and sports and fitness classes.

The spa was at least 50 percent of the reason Yuka Ward, who moved in last January, bought at Salus. “You don’t have to book elsewhere for a pedicure or treatment. You can do it here,” she says. “But it’s not just the spa—I like the whole amenity building. It has a nice gym, exercise floor, pool—everything.” Club Aqua is also a social space, with a library, a fireside lounge, and an entertainment room opening onto a 3,500-square-foot rooftop deck.

This weekend also launches the Adera Cares program, allowing buyers to select upgrades to their Salus home that enhance its sustainability. Salus homes, which are designed Built Green standards, offer options such as PSC certified hardwood flooring, low-emission wool carpeting and Energy Star washers and dryers. All Salus homes also include Adera’s new two year home owner’s warranty.

Sales of the newest units at Salus start on June 27th, with 14 fully furnished show homes and prices starting from the low $200s.

Salus, which captured an international Gold Nugget award recently for Outstanding Mid-Rise project at the Pacific Coast Builders’ Conference, is a collection of 238 apartment flats and 160 townhomes at Scott Road and 66th Avenue in Surrey. The contemporary “coastal mountain” architecture incorporates massive timber beams, natural rock and cedar shingles. The homes are arranged around gardens with interconnected ponds and abundant trees and trails.
